It's Release Day!

My debut novel, Gloom's Light, is out in the world and I am so excited.

I started writing this for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) 2022, from a writing prompt I found online.

I have always had an interest in being a writer, but to be honest, there wasn't an over-whelming urge like some people have. I used to think it would be cool and fun to do one day. I have always been an avid reader, mostly liking fantasy, thrillers and romance. As a child I had written a short story about a bear cub that was being experimented on in a scientists lab, when a serum got spilt on him making him giant. He then terrorized some local kids in the town having a sleepover. I remember my music teacher encouraged me and we typed it up and she drew the illustration's, and I had my first book. I still have the original story, but unfortunately don't have the illustrated copy : ).

In about 2018 I heard about NaNoWriMo and decided to give it a go on a whim. For those that don't know, the aim is to write a 50,000 word novel in November. It adds up to about 1,668 words a day. It is a real challenge and I failed the first few times. Actually 2022 was the first time I 'won' and I was so proud of myself.

Then there was the endless editing and hiring people for cover design and professional edits, and learning all I could about self publishing and every thing that goes into it. My head still reels some days with what I learnt.

Then there was building a website, managing social media, learning how to make graphics and learning how to market and sell this book I had written (I am still VERY much learning this bit!)

But after all that, here I am. Release day of Gloom's Light and I hope you love it as much as I do. If you read it, I would love it if you could leave a review, and think about joining my newsletter where you can keep up to date on the rest of the Evers Saga.

Here are the important links you will need.

Thank you so much and I'll be back after I celebrate!
